1C Jumping into the World of Consoles with ‘Captain Blood’ and ‘IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey’

1c company logo 1C Company has announced the development of two new console games to be released in 2008 and 2009. The Russian games publisher announced its first games developed for multiple platforms -internally-made Captain Blood is a Xbox 360 and PC Caribbean-themed game inspired by the novels by Rafael Sabatini and IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey, a DS, PSP, PS3, and Xbox 360 version of its combat flight simulation. These titles mark the first cross-platform games from 1C to be developed and published worldwide.

Nikolay Baryshnikov, International Sales Director for 1C Company stated:

“Our aim is to bring our games to even more players and expand our vision with cross platform development. We are embracing any new gaming technology that will improve our products including digital downloads, consoles, handheld gaming, Epic’s Unreal 3 Engine, NVIDIA PhysX and DirectX 10.”

1C is definitely starting to make a name for itself and has worked with Atari and Akella in the past on some notable if not mainstream PC titles. With this latest foray into handhelds and next-gen consoles, we can expect only to hear more from them in the future.
